Department Board
The Department board is the decision making body of Umeå Institute of Design. The Board convenes once a month, and any issues or proposals to be handled at the meeting must be submitted to the Chair at the latest one week before the meeting. You can always contact your representative(s) in the Department board if you wish to raise an issue.
School Meetings
School Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, at 13.00 in the Auditorium. All students and all staff are expected to attend, since the School Meeing is a forum for sharing information and raising important issues that concern all of us, and also for discussing the development of the school. Issues can be raised during the meeting, or in advance by contacting the UID leadership or Ställverket.
Education group
The Education group is a preparatory and advisory body that handles matters regarding educational issues at Umeå Institute of Design. The group meets once a month, and any suggestions or issues to be handled are sent in to the Chair or raised with the student representatives in advance.
Work environment group
The work environment group is a preparatory and advisory body that handles matter regarding physical and psycho-social work environment issues at UID. The group meets once a month, and any issues or questions to be handled are sent in or raised in advance through the student or staff representatives.
Equality and equal opportunities group
The Equality group is a preparatory and advisory body that handles issues regarding equal opportunities at UID, and that works with raising awareness and promoting good practices in regard to equal rights and equal opportunities. Students or staff that have suggestions for activities, or wish to raise an issue, should contact the staff or student representative, or the Head of department.
Sustainability group
The Sustainability group is a preparatory and advisory body that handles issues regarding sustainability in education and everyday situations at UID, and that works with raising awareness and promoting good practices in regard to sustainability issues. Students or staff that have suggestions for activities, or wish to raise an issue, should contact the staff or student representatives.
