From the autumn term 2011 Swedish universities introduced application and tuition fees for citizens from outside of the EU/EEA and Switzerland.
Scholarships
Umeå Institute of Design has always based its admission on talent and talent only. The introduction of tuition fees for non-EU students does not change that.
Umeå Institute of Design has secured additional funding that enables full or substantial reduction of the tuition fees through scholarships. This financial aid is only applicable to non-EU students. You can only apply for a scholarship when admitted. In 2011, 8 students received full scholarship to cover their tuition fees.
Admitted students from certain countries can also apply for the Swedish Institute Scholarships, that cover living expenses as well as tuition fees. More information »
